4.5 hr drive to the Columbia River Gorge
will have us at the first kite location
called Three Mile Canyon. We start in the
shallows, refresh the basics, and teach
clients to water relaunch the kite. We
use a jet ski for the second half of this
course. This allows us to follow close
behind you offering tips, and ensuring
safety.
This kite location is quite isolated. We

This course is "101" plus a trip to Lucky
Peak or C.J. Strike Reservoir . We
refresh the basics while in the water,
and cover how to relaunch your kite.
You then learn the body dragging. This
is the method of using your body as a
Rutter to control the kite. Once you have
mastered this essential skill, you are
ready for the board. After an hour with
the board we take you back to the
launch site and go over questions and
techniques.

Do to unforeseen weather changes, this course may be
broken into 2 different days. In the event of a "no wind
day" which means we were unable to fly a kite while in
the water, clients will be given a rain check for another
day.

This course is "201" with an additional
water lesson. This is when most people
finally get it. You will likely get up and
ride multiple times. Each time ending in a
wipe out. This is where the skill of body
dragging comes into play. You have
wrecked and the board has come off our
feet. How fast you body drag back to the
board will effect how many times you
attempt to ride.
